In 2010 we visited Playa Del Carmen in Mexico as our home base to visit several Mayan Ruins. During our trip we visited Tulum, Chichen Itza, and Cobá. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Nohoch Mul in Cobá. It is the tallest pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula and one of the few pyramids that you can still climb in Mexico. From the top you can see the vast, flat expanse of the Yucatan spreading out before you. The layer of trees seem to be broken only by the occasional stone ruin rising above the green as can be seen from the photo below.
