The sun setting on Mt. Mingsha (鸣沙山)

Crescent Lake Park (月牙泉) in Dunhuang, China was a wondrous place to spend time. We ambled around the dunes for three days, morning and night. The movement of the sun across the sky created this spectacular range of colors in the sand. As the sun dipped lower, shadows cut such a fine line along the ridges of the dunes. While sitting and watching the sun go down I was drawn to this almost yin/yang pattern of light and dark along the ridge of Mt. Mingsha (鸣沙山).
