Signs and Wonder

Hong Kong truly has some of the most iconic signs I’ve ever witnessed. Down many of the streets you can see white signs with bold red characters stretching over the entire road. As night descends the city shifts gears with the glow and buzz of dozens of neon signs illuminating the passersbys. These signs come in an array of shapes, colors, and sizes. Even during daylight those neon signs still present a striking image worth photographing.

    • Really? Agree that neon lights are discouraged in Singapore but I have seen neon signs in places like Geylang, limited though and nothing like in Hong Kong.

    • Really? That’s interesting. Unfortunately, we never got a chance to visit Singapore during our time there, but hopefully in the future we’ll be able to stop by. All my friends who traveled there have loved it.

  1. Dustin, one of the reasons I enjoyed reading your post is because you captured pictures that we see as mundane yet when you post it, you brought up a different point of view to it. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks for the compliment. Having grown up in a small US town, seeing the sheer amount of signs, plus all the interesting neon lights everywhere was truly special.
